Coastal Bedroom Ideas: How to Incorporate Beachy Color Into Your Neutral Bedroom

PIN FOR LATER!
As our move to the Mediterranean inches closer and closer (three months left, which is both exciting and mildly terrifying) I’ve found myself digging into coastal bedroom ideas and leaning towards brighter, happier, earthier tones. Muted green-blues, peach, terracotta, warm sand, soft sky colors… anything that feels like a relaxing beach day or the sea at sunset.
One of my favorite design firms, ABI Interiors and Three Birds Renovations has been a huge inspiration behind this aesthetic, which I like to refer to as Australian Coastal. (Do yourself a favor and Google Australian interior designers if you love these looks)
Are bright, earthy coastal vibes your design aesthetic?
Below are 17 curated neutral, earth-toned bedrooms with pops of color that keep that calm and serene vibe. Keep reading to find out! ⋒
This post is all about neutral pastel bedroom ideas
No 01 | Coastal Bedroom Ideas: Peach & Blue

Peach and minty blue are one of my favorite color combos, and this bedroom by Brighton Homes is the perfect example of how to pull it together successfully. (Click the link and scroll through to see the full tour of this beautiful home)

Adding pops of color to a mostly neutral bedroom doesn’t need to be over the top. Here, cool tones like the blue green in the pillows and art are just enough to compliment the warmer tones. This is color harmony at its simplest.
No 03 | Coastal Bedroom Ideas: Mustard Brown & Blush

Design & AI Render © The Styled Abode SHOP SIMILAR Throw Blanket // Table Lamps // Artwork “There Is Freedom In Love”
This bedroom’s neutral base is the perfect backdrop for bright pops of color. The mustard and blush tones of the throw blanket and pillows, decor, and warm wood tones in the pleated lamps tie in the unique framed artwork by Bonnie Gray. It’s a space that’s bright, happy and fun, and perfect for both kids and adults.
Style Check:
You might be drawn to this look if you love neutral bedrooms, but still want color to warm things up. Pale wood, white bedding, blush pillows, mustard textiles, and small sculptural details are usually a good sign that you like your coastal style a little more earthy and warm rather than cool.
No 04 | Soft Blues, Coastal Stripes and Natural Materials

Design & AI Render © The Styled Abode
This bedroom keeps the palette quiet but not flat, layering light oak, woven accents, and pale blue linenes for a soft, coastal-inspired look. The striped accent wall behind the vanity adds pattern and visual interest while still feeling calm and understated.
No 05 | Light & Airy Bedroom in Peachy Beige & Powder Blue
Design & AI Render © The Styled Abode SHOP SIMILAR Console // Seagrass Basket // Gold Sconces
A good example of how styling isn’t always about adding more. Sometimes it’s knowing what to take away. In this example, I switched out the patterned pillows with an understated lumbar in soft peachy brown tones, simplified the windows, took out the busy florals, added a touch of white and gold with the pendant light, and chose quiter details like the simple gold sconces. The edited version lets your eyes rest and the architecture and soft coastal palette breathe instead of competing with eachother.
No 06 | Coastal Stripes Mallorca Inspired Bedroom
This bedroom by Three Birds Renovations from their Modern Mallorca Project (which I happen to be obsessed with) feels playful in the best way. I love how the scalloped bed frame and rug bring in a softer, more decorative look without making the room feel fussy. The pastel palette, striped bedding, and blue-painted window framing give it that breezy, collected look that feels cheerful and a little nostalgic.

Proof pattern can be mixed if done right. The whimsical fish art and checkered pillows work because it sticks to the color scheme of blue, pink, yellow and orange. The desk is such an incredible feature, with it’s built in, mediterranean stucco look and curved details that mimic the niche.
Style Check:
You like neutrals, but secretly light up when there’s pattern, color, and a little bit of whimsy. Love scallops that are typically in tradtional designs but love color as well? This might be the perfect look for you.
No 07 | Beach Themed Done Right

Design & AI Render © The Styled Abode SHOP SIMILAR Art Print // Striped Bedding // Bench
Loving this bright beach inspired bedroom with a neutral base of cream, beige and white with grey and blue bought in for a fresh and airy look. I love how the contemporary design mixes in beach vibes with the abstract art, striped comforter reminiscent of a beach cabana, and a single fan palm in a vase. This is exactly how you theme a room without making it look tacky.
No 08 | Contemporary Coastal Bedroom with Understated Touches

Design & AI Render © The Styled Abode SHOP SIMILAR Art // Side Table
All-white bedrooms because they can go flat fast, but this one works because the wood canopy bed gives the whole room some structure. The soft abstract art, pale blue lines in the rug, and that fluted detail at the foot of the bed add just enough color and texture without disturbing the serenity.
Style Check:
You might prefer a softer coastal bedroom if you’re drawn to white walls, pale woods, linen bedding, and just the smallest hint of blue. This is the version of coastal that feels calm and pared back, but still warm enough to feel like a real bedroom.
No 09 | Coastal Color Scheme: Peach and Mint

Design & AI Render © The Styled Abode
This bedroom leans a little more traditional-meets-Scandi, which I think is why the pastel color feels so easy instead of overly beachy here. The peach and soft blue still nod to the sea, but in a quieter way: more fresh air and washed linen than full coastal theme.
No 10 | Coastal Bedroom Ideas: Palm Springs Vibes

Design & AI Render © The Styled Abode SHOP SIMILAR Lamp 01 // Lamp 02 // Desert Art
Although the decor here leans “desert”, this color scheme and striped details still evokes the warmth of a sunny beach day or sunset with its terracotta and peach hues.
No 11 | Coastal Bedroom Ideas: Cane & Checkerboard
Loving the warmth and airy feel of this bedroom. The cane headboard, neutral bedding, checkerboard pillow and modern lamp pull together the look that’s whimsical yet modern.
No 12 | Coastal Bedrooms Ideas: Curved Architectural Details

Design & AI Render © The Styled Abode
Bring coastal vibes into your bedroom in an unexpected way with curved wall detailing. Limewashed walls, Peach, beige warm brown and mint bring both warm and cool tones that tie in the artwork above.
No 13 | Breezy Bedroom in Warm Earth Tones
A dream bedroom with plenty of natural light and large enough for a seating area. The warm tones of this retreat would work in just about any space.
No 14 | Coastal Bedroom Ideas: Warm Sunset Vibes
Loving this space by Sunshine Beach Reno. Checkered bedding, terracotta linen bedding, the curved bench at the end of the bed and artwork give it just enough interest while still keeping it clean and minimal.
No 15 | A Coastal Bedroom Reminiscent of Palm Springs
This is one of those bedrooms that proves neutral doesn’t have to mean boring. I love how the warm rust throw and checker patterned pillows give the room some personality. The retro feeling palm-lined art, sculptural lamp, and clean wood accents adds subtle Palm Springs vibes for a cozy yet stylish feel. No 16 | Mediterranean Vibes: Arched Corner Niche

Design & AI Render © The Styled Abode SHOP Wood Figure Sculpture
This is such a good example of using white as a base and adding in pops of color to create an intentional color scheme. The earthy pinks, ochre accents, and terracotta pieces bring the color in slowly, while the arched corner niche is the kind of DIY detail that could completely change the feel of a basic bedroom. I feel like this piece could easily be created with a bit of ingenuity.
You might love this style if…
You’re drawn to white walls, warm wood, muted sunset colors, natural textures, and bedrooms that feel breezy without being overly themed.
No 17 | Coastal Color Scheme: Earth Tones + Powder Blue

Design ©Favell Architects
This mostly neutral bedroom by Favell Architects incorpoates subtle pops of color with clay-toned bedding, powder-blue trim, and artwork that has more of a collected than styled feel. The palette stays soft, but the mix of texture, warm oak, and small hits of color keeps it from disappearing into the background.
